Custom Signals

Describe your own signal in plain words, pick who to watch, preview it free, and start tracking.

A custom signal is one you write yourself, like "Tell me when a target account talks about moving off Salesforce." Salesgear looks at what the company, its people, or your contacts have recently talked about on social channels, and puts each match in your feed with the quote as proof, who to reach and a draft.

Step 1: Pick a starter or describe your own

  1. Go to Signals → Signal templates and click the Your custom signals chip.

  2. Click Track on a starter (Account talks about [topic], Hiring for [roles] using [tech], Prospect posts about [topic], Expanding into [region]), or click Describe your own on the Create your own card.

  3. Under What do you want to hear about?, write what to watch for, or click one of the examples. Click Continue.

📌 Say it like you'd tell a teammate, in a few sentences.

Step 2: Check what Salesgear understood

  1. Review the Name, Fires when… and Words we search for.

  2. Add or remove words, or click Say it differently.

  3. Click Next: who to watch.

Step 3: Choose who to watch and preview

  1. Pick a company list, a contact list, or Your competitors. Click Next: preview.

  2. Salesgear tries it on up to 5 of them and shows what it found, with the cost per week. Click Run again to retry, or Change the words.

  3. Click Next, then Start tracking.

📌 The preview is free and nothing is saved until you start tracking. If the preview finds nothing, you can still start tracking; it checks again every week.

👉 Credit usage

  • Watching companies → 2 credits per company, each check

  • Watching a contact list → 1 credit per contact, each check

Custom signals are checked weekly unless you choose Monthly or Custom.
