Connecting email accounts using SMTP/IMAP

If you don’t use Gmail or Outlook, you can use SMTP (for sending emails on your behalf) and IMAP (for tracking replies) protocols to connect your email account with Salesgear.

Before connecting the email account, you should be aware of the following:

  1. SMTP and IMAP hostname

  2. Port numbers for SMTP and IMAP

  3. Ensure to enable IMAP for your email account

Here are the steps to connect using SMTP/IMAP -

  1. In Salesgear, go to settings → connected inbox.

  2. Click on ‘Connect inbox’ in the top right corner.

  3. Click on ‘Connect SMTP/IMAP’. This will take you to the ‘connect to SMTP/IMAP’ page.

  4. You will notice two sections here -

    1. Sender email (SMTP)

    2. Receiver email (IMAP)

  5. Enter all the mentioned details in both the sender and receiver sections.

  6. Click on ‘Test’ in both the sections to ensure the connection is working & established.

  7. Once everything is set, click on ‘Save’.

  8. Your account will be connected to Salesgear successfully.

Points to remember:

  • Only when both the SMTP and IMAP connections are successful, you will be able to save the details & connect the account with Salesgear. Therefore, ensure to enter the right details.
