This article explains how to activate failed contacts in a sequence.

Why contacts are getting failed in a sequence?

Contacts can be failed to activate in a sequence for any of the following reasons -

  1. Contacts are opted out: Consider that you are adding a contact to a sequence and then opting out that contact. Now, this contact will be opted out from the sequence automatically. You cannot send emails to an opted out contact. Hence, the opted out contact has failed status.

  2. Scheduled inbox is not available in the sequence: For example, consider that you have scheduled your emails with two inboxes but without checking the automatically reassign inbox option in a sequence. Later, you remove one of these inboxes. Now the contacts scheduled for the deleted inbox will be in failed status.

  3. Contacts are not in failed status: Since you would be retrying failed contacts in bulk, there might be contacts included that are not in failed status. This means that you can only retry to activate the failed contacts.

How to activate failed contacts in a sequence?

  1. Click on the ‘sequences’ icon in the vertical side menu bar.

  2. Click on the sequence in which you want to retry contacts.

  3. Go to the ‘contacts’ tab available in the horizontal menu bar.

  4. Select all or only the specific contacts using the check box available before the name of the contacts.

  5. Click on the ‘more options’ icon (three vertical dots) available on the right corner above the contacts list.

  6. Click 'retry'.

  7. The selected contacts will activated successfully in the sequence, provided there are no contacts in any of the above mentioned scenarios.
