This article explains how to call an international number with the right format on the Salesgear dialer.
Any number you call from the Salesgear dialer should follow the E.164 standard.
What is E.164?
E.164 is an internationally recognized standard phone number format that will help to ensure the deliverability of calls. A phone number with this format will correctly route your calls and messages to the intended recipient.
An E.164 phone number formatting requires the following:
A ‘+’ (plus) sign
Country code
Phone number (Global Subscriber Number)
The length of the country code can be a maximum of 3 digits and the length of the phone number can be a maximum of 12 digits. Hence, an international number written in E.164 format can have upto 15 digits maximum.
How to dial a number using this format in Salesgear dialer?
Click on the ‘contacts’ icon in the vertical side navigation bar.
Click on the ‘more options’ icon (three vertical dots) against the contact that you want to call.
Choose ‘call’ from the drop-down menu.
You will notice the dialer popping from the right side.
The contact’s phone number will appear on the dialer by default if you have already saved it. Otherwise, start by entering the ‘+’ (plus) sign.
Enter the country code. Check out this article to find your contact’s country code.
Next to the country code, enter the phone number.
Press the green button to make the call.
Points to remember:
Be sure to include the ‘+’(plus) sign before your country code. If not, you cannot call the intended phone number.
If you are dialing a telephone number, ensure to include the specific area code as a prefix to the phone number. Meaning → + {country code} {area code} {phone number}
