Intent of the article:

This article explains an example workflow using triggers that automatically complete a sequence & add contacts to a new sequence based on specific criteria.

Consider a sequence that you created for sending cold emails to your prospects.

In this sequence, all the emails cover the users’ pain points and solutions that you are ready to provide; no details about your product whatsoever.

You find certain prospects clicking the links in your emails more than one or two times. This might mean that you have caught their attention and they might be interested in hearing from you further.

In this case, you can add them to a separate sequence in which you talk about how your product can solve their problems. You can try out the following trigger to avoid adding contacts from one sequence to another manually.

  1. Click on the ‘settings’ icon in the vertical navigation bar.

  2. Scroll down to ‘account settings’ on the left to locate ‘triggers’.

  3. Click on the ‘add trigger’ button in the top right corner.

  4. Name your trigger.

  5. Choose the “Clicked on a link by the contact” trigger.

  6. Click on the "+add" button available in the conditions section.

  7. Select “open count” as your condition.

  8. Choose “greater than (>)” as your comparison symbol.

  9. Enter the value as “2”.

  10. Select the action “complete a sequence” and enter the current sequence name in which the contacts exist.

  11. Then, click on the “+add” to include another action.

  12. Select the action “add to new sequence” and enter the sequence name to which you want to add your contacts automatically.

  13. Click ‘save’.’

This trigger will automatically add contacts that clicked the link more than once to another sequence that you mentioned.
