This example shows how to use triggers to automatically move engaged contacts from one sequence to another based on link clicks.
Imagine you’re running a cold email sequence focused purely on pain points and high-level solutions, without pitching your product.
As prospects engage with your emails, especially by clicking links multiple times - it’s often a signal that they’re ready for deeper product-specific messaging.
Instead of manually tracking and moving these contacts to a new sequence, you can automate the entire flow using a trigger.
Here's how you do it -
Open Settings.
Under Account settings, select Triggers.
Click Add trigger.
Give your trigger a clear name.
Select Clicked on a link by the contact as the trigger event.
In the conditions section, click + Add.
Select Open count as the condition.
Choose Greater than (>) as the comparison.
Enter 2 as the value.
Add the action Complete a sequence and select the current sequence.
Click + Add to include another action.
Select Add to new sequence and choose the follow-up sequence.
Click Save.
Once active, this trigger will automatically move contacts who click links more than once into the next sequence—without any manual intervention.
