Intent of the article:

This article explains how to activate and deactivate an email variant as a part of A/B testing.

What happens when you activate/ deactivate an email variant?

If an email variant in a stage is activated, it means that you are including it as a part of the sequence and it will be sent to a bunch of contacts in the sequence.

While you deactivate it, you are excluding it from the stage. Meaning - none of the contacts in the sequence will receive this email. Hence, you get no engagement metrics.

Please note that you must have at least one variant activated for every stage, provided if the stage is an automated email/ manual email.

Here’s how you do it -

  1. Go to ‘sequences’ in the left vertical menu bar.

  2. Choose the required sequence.

  3. You will see a toggle button to the leftmost side of every email variant. You can switch it on to include the variant and off to exclude it.
