Intent of the article:
The purpose of this article is to explain how to share templates with teammates.
Why share templates?
Sharing templates helps everyone in the team to stay on the same page. Additionally, you can collaborate with your teammates to consider their perspectives to create an email template as well. This gives much more transparency within the team.
How to share email templates?
Click on the ‘templates’ icon in the vertical side menu bar.
Click on the ‘more options’ button (three vertical dots) on the extreme right of the template that you want to share.
Click on ‘edit’.
You will see the following three radio buttons here:
Radio button | Description |
Private | This option indicates that the template is accessible only by the admin. |
Shared Read Only | This means that the template is shared with the entire team, but it can be updated only by the admin. |
Shared Read Write | Choosing this option will make the template available to the entire team, where all the members can modify the template content |
5. Once you have selected your preferred option, click ‘save’.
6. Now, you have successfully updated your template sharing preferences. You will also notice the label ‘shared’ against the shared templates.
7. You can view the shared templates in the ‘shared templates’ folder available in the templates tab.
Note: Newly created templates are set to private by default. If you want to share them with your team, you should update your preferences manually.
