Intent of the article:

This article provides a direction in configuring sequence throttles in Salesgear.

Why do you need contacts throttling?

Whether sending emails via Salesgear or not, your email provider (Gmail, Microsoft, etc.) will have a cap on the number of emails you send every day. If you exceed this limit, you are likely to be suspected as you are trying to spam a huge set of people.

Therefore, it is better to have a standard value on the number of active contacts that can be in the sequence at a given time and the number of contacts to be activated every 24 hours.

For example, you can have 200 active contacts in a sequence at a given time and 50 contacts to be added to the sequence per 24-hour rolling period. Meaning, if you send emails to 50 out of 200 active contacts, 50 more will be added to the sequence. This way, your pipeline is always occupied with enough contacts that you want to target, and you can keep following your workflow to book more meetings & close deals.

Steps to set up throttling limits:

  1. Click on the ‘sequences’ icon in the vertical side menu bar.

  2. Choose the sequence for which you want to set up the throttles.

  3. Go to the ‘settings’ tab available in the horizontal menu.

  4. Scroll down to the ‘throttling’ section.

  5. Assign values to the parameters - ‘max contacts ongoing in this sequence’ and ‘max contacts added to this sequence per 24-hour rolling period’.

  6. Click on ‘save changes’.

Note: Newly added contacts will be moved to the pending state by default. You should configure your throttle settings.
