Stages in a sequence - An overview:
Stages are individual steps designed to successfully engage with your target contacts. These steps/ stages together with as much space between one another make a sequence which you and the team can rely upon regularly.
Each of these stages in Salesgear can be:
An automated email
A manual email
A phone call
A LinkedIn task
A custom task
Steps to adding stages to a sequence:
Create a sequence. You can do it either from scratch or use a predefined sequence from our library.
Choose a sequence in the ‘sequences’ section for which you want to add stages.
On the sequence page, click on the ‘add stage’ button in the top right corner.
Select any one of the following types of stages from the drop-down menu -
Stage Type | Description |
Automated email | You can create new personalized emails and schedule them to be delivered automatically based on the parameters you set. If you would like to import templates, check out this article for detailed information. |
Manual email | If you want to send emails to individual contacts and not to the whole contact list, you can type out a personalized email yourself. |
Phone call | You can schedule calls with your contacts, add tips, notes, and other important information to communicate with them. |
LinkedIn tasks | You can use this to connect with your contacts on LinkedIn and perform activities such as view a contact’s profile, send a connection request, send a message, or interact with one of their posts. |
Custom tasks | Custom tasks can be anything of your choice. For example, you may wish to interact with your contact’s tweet on Twitter. You can add the same with some notes as a stage to the sequence & execute it at the scheduled time. |
5. Click ‘save’.
6. Repeat steps 2-4 till you achieve the desirable sequence that you were planning.
7. Now you can add contacts and track the sequence’s performance.
Points to remember:
We recommend including a minimum of 4-6 stages in a sequence, as it ensures better engagement.
Make sure to give your contacts a day or two before your next touchpoint. Nudging them frequently is not going to help you close the deal.
Executing a sales sequence is less about you and more about your contacts. Hence, prioritize them and schedule calls & meetings based on their time zones and convenience.
