Moving Beyond Twilio: Why We Upgraded to Carrier-Grade Voice Infrastructure

Written by Premsanth Rajamani

Salesgear's calling infrastructure has moved from Twilio to a direct, carrier-grade voice network.

👉 Why we moved

Twilio routes calls over the public internet through third-party carriers, which can add latency, jitter, and dropped connections — especially during peak hours. Our new setup connects directly to the carrier network, cutting out that middle layer.

👉 What changed

  • Clearer audio, with less clipping and background noise

  • Lower latency, so conversations feel more natural

  • Faster call connect times

  • More reliable local presence dialing

👉 What you need to do

Nothing — this upgrade is already live across the platform.
