Connecting LinkedIn with Salesgear allows you to automate LinkedIn actions, track engagement, and import prospects directly into your Salesgear workspace.
Salesgear supports both Standard/Premium LinkedIn and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, but the experience and capabilities differ significantly based on what you connect.
To avoid confusion, Salesgear now guides you through this choice clearly during setup.
Why Sales Navigator is recommended (and default)
While both options work, LinkedIn Sales Navigator unlocks deeper automation and prospecting capabilities inside Salesgear.
Sales Navigator is best if you want to:
Send connection requests with messages at scale
Run advanced LinkedIn sequences
Import leads directly from Sales Navigator searches
Use LinkedIn as a primary outbound channel
Standard / Premium LinkedIn works if you:
Use LinkedIn occasionally
Are okay with platform limits
Don’t rely heavily on LinkedIn automation
This is why Sales Navigator is selected by default during connection.
How the new connection flow works
Instead of showing multiple buttons, Salesgear now uses one clear entry point and guides you from there.
Step 1: Open LinkedIn connection settings
Go to the LinkedIn tab
Click Connect LinkedIn
Step 2: Choose your LinkedIn account type
A popup will appear titled: “Choose LinkedIn account type”
You’ll see two radio options:
Sales Navigator (default selected)
Best for unlimited connection messages and advanced LinkedIn automation.Standard / Premium LinkedIn
Limited to 5 connection requests with messages per month.
Click Continue once you’ve selected the right option.
Step 3: Authenticate your LinkedIn account
If Sales Navigator is selected → you’ll go through Sales Navigator OAuth
If Standard / Premium LinkedIn is selected → you’ll go through LinkedIn OAuth
Once authenticated, your LinkedIn account is connected to Salesgear.
What happens after connection
Once connected:
LinkedIn actions become available inside sequences
Engagement tracking is enabled
If you connected Sales Navigator, you can start importing leads directly from Sales Nav searches
No other behavior changes — only the setup experience is clearer and more intentional.
Key things to remember
Sales Navigator is recommended for serious outbound use
You can start importing prospects immediately after connection
